Keevin Foster, computer aided engineering specialist at Deere and Company, was the keynote speaker, and Rick Mihelic, with over 30 years engineering experience, also addressed the participants relating his own experience specifically with CADseek and the CAD data management market in general.

Patents Issued for iSEEK Corporation CADSEEK Search Engine Technology

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office recently issued two patents covering the underlying technology used by iSEEK Corporation for its flagship shape search product, CADSEEK Polaris. Inventors of the patented technology include Abir Qamhiyah, who serves as CEO of the company and Don Flugrad who is the Senior VP and Chief Operating Officer.
The patents are No. 7,548,650 Geometric search engine and No. 7,492,374 Computer aided design file processing. The two patents describe the methods used by iSEEK Corporation for the coding, indexing and retrieval of three-dimensional shapes found in large, distributed CAD databases. Iowa company's search engine ferrets out shapes, not words

A search engine called iSEEK created by two former professors has expanded its target client list from heavy manufacturing companies to include pharmaceutical, video animation and other creative industries.
Ultimately, said Des Moines lawyer Doug Gross, iSEEK wants to become "the shape-based Google" for Internet searches that would be based on shapes instead of words.

Over 300 of the Bay Area's most active and respected angel investors attended the Keiretsu Forum Silicon Valley Angel Capital Expo at Microsoft in Mountain View,California last Friday. The all-day event featured 14 company presentations and discussion at the company exhibition booths, as well as the "Most Valued Company" competition, which capped off the day.
Following the presentations, attendees voted on their favorite company. Keiretsu Forum representatives tallied the results and presented iSeek Corp. with the "Most Valued Company" award.
